Dr. Ordaya is a third-year Infectious Diseases fellow at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He worked as a research fellow in Bartonellosis at Instituto de Medicina Tropical Alexander Von Humbodlt under the mentorship of Dr. Ciro MaguiƱa. Then, he performed formal training in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, where he worked as a staff physician after finishing training. Given a profound interest in infections in immunocompromised hosts, he performed a Transplant Infectious Diseases fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Later, he did his Internal Medicine training at the University of Minnesota, where he was elected as a chief resident focused on EBM. Lastly, he is completing Infectious Diseases training at Mayo Clinic, where he is also finalizing a certificate program in clinical and translational research focusing on clinical trials.
Dr. Ordaya is primarily interested in infections in immunocompromised hosts, invasive fungal infections, and global health.
