Mohamed Hisham is a Clinical Pharmacist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) since 2016. He is a preceptor for the ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency Program and the CCAD internship program. He holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Hisham also holds multiple adjuvant faculty positions for Clinical Pharmacy and PharmD Programs in the UAE.
Hisham has American Board Pharmacy Certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He earned his PharmD degree from India. Before joining CCAD, he established Clinical Pharmacy Services in a 120-bedded ICU, in a tertiary care hospital in India. He has over 30 publications including a book on general management of poisoning and has presented more than 45 research papers nationally and internationally. He has over 60 invited talks in various international and national conferences including the 2019 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, USA. Hisham serves as a review editor for multiple infectious diseases journals. Hisham serves as a reviewer for the infectious diseases self-assessment program (IDSAP) chapters for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
He received Honorary Award from the Indian Society of Toxicology in 2016. He was awarded the Best Preceptor for CCAD Pharmacy Internship Program in 2018. Hisham also received the Young Intensivist Award for Best Innovative Research Paper in CRITICARE 2016 at Agra, India by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine. At CCAD, Hisham leads the team which established the Emergency Department Pharmacy Services. On a rotational basis, he also works as an antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist.
