Paloma F Cariello, MD, MPH, FIDSA, is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Associate Dean for Academic Culture and Community at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah. She is a clinical educator who graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 2003 and obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health from University of Massachusetts in 2013. Her clinical work is focused on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infections in transplant recipients and immunocompromised hosts and she is heavily involved in medical education locally and at a national level. Dr. Cariello is passionate about cultivating an inclusive learning environment that welcomes all members of the community, and dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the immigrant population. Currently she serves in the Association of American Medical College Group on Collaboration, Engagement, and Community Steering Committee as the Western Regional Representative and the Infectious Diseases Society of America Inclusion, Diversity, Access and Equity Committee.
