Assistant Professor
University of Kentucky
I recently completed my Infectious Disease fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, and have started as faculty at the ID Division at University of Kentucky. My interests within ID include infections in Immunocompromised individuals, and antimicrobial resistance, with a focus on healthcare disparities. I completed medical school at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, where I first develop an interest in ID after interacting with patients with a myriad of vector-borne and GI infections. During my residency training at West Virginia University, I furthered my interest in ID during inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations, and authored several publications, including studies utilizing large clinical databases. During fellowship, I pursued my interest in immunocompromised hosts and antimicrobial resistance with additional clinical training and ongoing research work.
In the future, I plan to utilize my training to continue providing clinical care to individuals with immune compromise, and to disseminate and implement antimicrobial stewardship practices in immunocompromised hosts population, as well as individuals in low-resource settings.
