Jincong (Jason) Freeman is a graduate student at the University of Chicago Department of Public Health Sciences and a research trainee in the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Cancer Health Disparities and Equity Training Program. Prior to that, Jason worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, obtained an MPH in Epidemiology from the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health, and completed his postgraduate fellowship training at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Through his work and research experience, Jason became interested in the intersection of infectious diseases and cancer, HIV prevention, cancer disparities, health equity, clinical and survival outcomes, and social determinants of health in racial/ethnic minoritized, underserved, and disadvantaged populations. In addition, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Jason is also interested in HIV and cancer among sexual and gender minority populations. My career goal is to become an independent investigator, with the goal of improving the health and well-being of sexual and gender and racial/ethnic minoritized communities.
