Ms. Feruza Ablimitova is an epidemiologist specializing in prevention and monitoring of vaccine-preventable infections. She received a Bachelor's in Public Health in 2022 from the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University of Almaty. In 2022, she initiated the Central Asia Advanced Field Epidemiology and Training Program in Almaty which is supported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As part of this program she is also studying for a Master's in Applied Epidemiology from the S.D. Asfendiyarova Kazakh National Medical University.
She worked as an epidemiologist in the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Almaty in 2021 to 2022. During this time, she prepared operational reports for city leadership on COVID-19 epidemiological situation updates. She was also engaged in registration of new COVID-19 cases. Since 2022 she has been working as an epidemiologist with the Scientific and Practical Center of Sanitary-Epidemiological Examination and Monitoring, Branch of the National Center for Public Health, Almaty, Kazakhstan. In this capacity, she implemented measures to prevent and control several infectious diseases outbreaks, including measles, rubella and whooping cough.
