Infection Preventionist
Northwestern Memorial Hospital
My name is Shardul Rathod, MPH, CIC, an Infection Preventionist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. I obtained my Masters in Public Health with a focus on Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Yale University in 2019, and my research as a student examined the antibiotic and diagnostic stewardship elements of Clostridioides difficile infection. I joined Northwestern shortly afterwards and my work in IP primarily focuses on the adult solid organ transplant (SOT) service including the abdominal and cardiothoracic transplant programs. Other specialty populations I work with include the ventricular assist device (VAD) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) programs.
