Cara Charnogursky, MD is a third year pediatric infectious disease fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Cara was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Bioethics at Loyola University of Chicago. She then complted medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine and a residency in Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. During residency, she also completed a certificate program in Global Health. Upon graduation, she moved back to Chicago and spent 3 years working as a hospitalist caring for children on the inpatient wards and in the urgent care setting. During fellowship training she has developed an interest in antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention and control and hospital epidemiology. She is pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at Vanderbilt with expected graduation in 2024.
