Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellow
Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Hello! I'm Brittany Lehrer, one of the third year pediatric infectious diseases clinical fellows at Vanderbilt. My story is that I grew up in Appleton, WI and completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse where I majored in biology and minored in chemistry. I then moved to North Chicago to earn my medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University. Upon graduation, I moved back to WI and completed my pediatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin which is located in Milwaukee. It was here that took a liking to pediatric infectious diseases and ultimately moved to Nashville, TN in 2021 to start my pediatric infectious diseases fellowship. While in fellowship, I became fascinated and frightened by antimicrobial resistance and therefore pursued many research opportunities in antimicrobial stewardship while also earning my Master of Public Health degree. When I'm not at work, I love to play competitive volleyball, find some DIY project to attempt, or go hiking, biking, or camping.
