Catherine Bozio, PhD, MPH, is an epidemiologist in the Influenza Division at CDC and serves as the lead of the Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance Network (FluSurv-NET), which is part of the Respiratory Virus Hospitalization Surveillance Network (RESP-NET). Prior to this role in the Influenza Division, her research focused on understanding influenza testing and influenza antiviral treatment practices, particularly in the hospital setting. In addition, she has gained knowledge in the extraction of electronic health record data from healthcare systems. Dr. Bozio also served in the CDC’s COVID-19 pandemic response in many roles over the course of two years, but primarily supported a network using electronic health records to estimate COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness. Prior to joining the Influenza Division, Dr. Bozio worked in CDC's Division of Bacterial Diseases.
