Brian Conlon, PhD is a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding why antibiotics fail during infection, with an emphasis on antibiotic tolerance, host–pathogen interactions, and strategies to enhance antimicrobial efficacy in vivo. Dr. Conlon received his PhD from University College Dublin and completed postdoctoral training at Northeastern University. His laboratory integrates microbiology, immunology, and translational approaches to study persistent infections caused by pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus.
