Jacob Strahilevitz, M.D., is an associate professor (Clinical Microbiology) at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
Dr. Strahilevitz serves as the head of the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Hadassah Medical Center and Chair of the Department of Medicine, Hebrew University.
He received his M.D. from Tel-Aviv University, completed his residency in internal medicine at Beilinson hospital and clinical fellowship in infectious diseases at Hadassah Medical Center.
Dr. Strahilevitz pursued research fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. David Hooper at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and subsequently joined the faculty at Hadassah-Hebrew University in 2005. His research interests focus on antibiotic resistance, infective endocarditis and antimicrobial stewardship.
