Born in New York. Grew up in Metro Detroit. College degree from Michigan State University in Physiology. Worked as an EMT in Sag Harbor, NY, then went to graduate school at Wayne State University. Recieved an MS degree after writing a literature based review of tick borne diseases. Worked as a graduate assistant in Dr. Jeff Ram's lab and published multiple studies on taxonomy and environmental impact of invasive species in the Great Lakes with a focus on Chironomid flies and water mites. Subsequently accepted to medical school at Wayne State University. Participated in Street Medicine Detroit throughout medical school and still enjoy working with the classically underserved homeless population. Completed Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Subsequently became and ID fellow at the same institution. Looking forward to a future career in community infectious disease practice and antimicrobial stewardship. Research interests in improving delivery of care to the underserved and investigation of vector-borne disease (particularly ticks).
