Heather Voss MSN, RN, CPHQ, CIC is a Program Director, Epidemiology and Infection Prevention within the Northwestern Memorial Healthcare system based in Chicago, Illinois. A registered nurse of 29 years, most of her career has been devoted to quality and patient safety efforts. Her skills include critical care nursing, quality improvement, physician peer review, core measure abstraction, HAC penalty reduction, and infection prevention. She now devotes all of her time leading the infection prevention program in 4 community-based hospitals. Some of her proudest acheivements include a >70% reduction in clostroides difficile infections in two community-based hospitals in 2019 that is still sustained today, and being recognized as a regional nurse of the year in 2021 for exemplary professional practice. In her free time she enjoys attending concerts, musical theatre, and reading fiction novels.
