Dr. Corwin Robertson is a Senior Director of Scientific & Medical Affairs, Sanofi Pasteur US, with responsibility for activities associated with the prevention and control of vaccine-preventable diseases. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Brown University, Providence, RI, and a medical degree from the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He completed a primary care internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. This was followed by a general preventive medicine / public health residency at the University of South Carolina, where he also earned a master of public health degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from that institution’s Arnold School of Public Health.
Before joining Sanofi Pasteur, Dr. Robertson received advanced training in applied epidemiology through the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. After completing his assignment as an EIS Officer, Dr. Robertson was a Medical Director in the Communicable Disease Service at the New Jersey Department of Health and served as the Deputy State Epidemiologist. Dr. Robertson also served as co-chair of a state-wide task force to combat antimicrobial resistance in New Jersey. Through these roles he has gained an understanding of public health practice, including disease surveillance, outbreak response, coalition building, and public health law.
Dr. Robertson has published on a variety of topics, including emerging infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, and emergency preparedness. His current areas of interest include the prevention and control of infectious diseases, emerging infectious diseases, and reducing health disparities.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American Medical Association and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
