Dr. Angelike (Angie) Liappis is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at GWU. After fellowship Dr. Liappis joined the faculty, first at GWU in the Division of Infectious Diseases and currently, as a full-time faculty member in the Section of Infectious Diseases at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Liappis holds the rank of Associate Professor with appointments in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at GWU and is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Liappis serves as the Medical Director for the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP), directs the DC VAMC Antimicrobial Stewardship Elective for Internal Medicine Residents, and serves as the regional Lead VA Capitol Health Care Network (VISN 5) Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Collaborative.
