Ms. Trishna Kisiju is an ambitious public health graduate fellow at Korea University. She was awarded the highly competitive Global Korea Scholarship 2020, a testament to her academic prowess and potential. She was born in Nepal where she developed a deep appreciation for the value of healthcare and its impact on society. Her graduate studies enabled her to grasp the intricacies of epidemiology, statistics, and health policy, equipping her with the skills necessary to address current and emerging public health challenges. She has been actively involved as a full-time master’s student under Prof. Dr. Byung Chul Chun’s Infectious Disease Epidemiology Lab for almost two years. This hands-on experience has allowed her to develop a strong foundation in research methodologies, data analysis, and critical thinking. She has contributed to ongoing projects and publications in scientific journals from the lab, that mostly focus on the understanding of the complex interplay between diseases, communities, and public health policies. Beyond her academic pursuits, she possesses a keen eye for uniqueness and creativity. She finds solace and joy in various artistic outlets, utilizing these forms of self-expression to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Her long-term goal is to lead innovative research projects focused on disease prevention and control, with particular emphasis on improving health outcomes in vulnerable communities.
