Infectious Disease Fellow in Training
The Medical City, Philippines
Dr. Charles Kevin L. Rivera is an Adult Infectious Diseases trainee from The Medical City, Philippines.
I am a graduate of University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. In my journey through residency, I have realized early on that pursuing a career in Infectious Diseases allowed me to address several interests while also allowing me to cater other problems effectively. My interest in Infectious Disease deepened with the COVID 19 pandemic while I was serving my one year Post Residency Deployment Program under Department of Health in Rizal Provincial Hospital System – Angono Annex as a Medical Officer IV. I knew back then that I wanted to be in this field and this pandemic strengthened that outlook. My interests in the importance of Infection Control measures and Antibiotic Stewardship principles are the main reasons I decided to pursue a career in Infectious Diseases. It offers me the opportunity to commit myself to serving my patients while encompassing all areas of medicine. By integrating my special interests in Microbiology and Parasitology, I believe I can realize the goals I have set for myself as a 5-star physician.
