LTC Milissa Jones, MD, MPH is a United States Army Officer and is an energetic and highly skilled physician with 10 years of experience in pediatrics including completion of pediatric infectious diseases fellowship in 2019. She graduated from Syracuse University and went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Having been a recipient of the HPSP scholarship for medical school, LTC Jones went on to complete pediatric residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Following completion of pediatric residency, LTC Jones was stationed at West Point as a general pediatrician, providing outpatient, inpatient, and newborn nursery care. LTC Jones returned to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and completed a fellowship in infectious diseases while simultaneously earning a Master of Public health from the Uniformed Services University in 2019. LTC Jones served as the Chief of pediatric infectious diseases at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii from 2019-2022 and was actively involved in the physician training program. She provided medical care to a diverse patient population including providing expert advice to clinicians at to outlying military treatment facilities in Japan, Korea, and Guam via telehealth. She was the chair of the Tripler Residency Research Oversight Committee.
Presently she serves as the Deputy Director of the Translational Medicine Unit at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. She is actively involved in clinical research, serving as the Principal Investigator and Associate Investigator for multiple IRB approved protocols. She has numerous peer reviewed publications and has presented her research at local, national, and international levels.
