Romney Humphries, PhD D(ABMM) received her PhD in bacteriology from the University of Calgary, Canada and completed a clinical and public health microbiology CPEP fellowship at UCLA. She served as the Section Chief of Clinical Microbiology for UCLA for 7 years, after which she transitioned to three years in industry, as Chief Scientific Officer at Accelerate Diagnostics. She is currently Professor, Executive Medical Director and Vice Chair of Clinical Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in the department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology.
Dr. Humphries is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. Her research interests include the development of novel tests for the diagnosis of antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases.
