Neven Papic following graduation from School of Medicine University of Zagreb in 2008, worked as a research fellow at the UHID and has started infectious diseases fellowship in 2010. In 2011 and 2012 he gained additional education in the field of genome analysis at the University of Utah, USA, and in 2015 he defended PhD thesis entitled “The role of liver sinusoidal endothelial cells in HCV infection”. In 2016 he finished ID specialization and from then is working as a ID specialist at the University hospital for infectious diseases “Dr. Fran Mihaljević“ in Zagreb. He is the assistant professor at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. Dr. Papic received several prestige awards and is researcher on several Croatian and international science projects, including the project “SepsisFAT, The role of immune semaphorins in sepsis” where he is principal investigator. In his research he advocates the interdisciplinary approach that integrates the basic and clinical science to decode dynamic interactions between microbial pathogens and their hosts.
