Dr. Gopalakrishnan is an Associate Director, Bioinformatics in the Early Vaccines and Immune Therapies group at AstraZeneca. He has earned a PhD in epidemiology from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. During this time, he served as the first author for several pivotal studies that led to the discovery of differential microbiome signatures related to cancer immunotherapies.
Currently, his research is focused on analyzing clinical, observational and, genomic and metagenomic next generation sequencing data for the identification of therapeutic targets, and to better characterize clinical outcomes in infectious diseases.
In this poster, Dr. Gopalakrishnan and team have helped to establish a robust baseline for human metapneumovirus surveillance using public data and through analysis of commercially acquired isolates.
