Dr. Kathryn Bowman is an Instructor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she serves on the inpatient consult service. She is also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard, working with Dr.Sarah Fortune. She earned her M.D. from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Washington, and her infectious diseases fellowship training at Massachusetts General Brigham. She is passionate about studying the human immune response in Tuberculosis and HIV/TB co-infection, and understanding how antibody functions can be leveraged both for biomarker development and in rational design of vaccines and therapeutics across multiple infectious diseases. She is excited to discuss physician-scientist career development, research collaborations, clinical infectious diseases, and immunology, antibodies, tuberculosis and HIV/TB, Lyme disease, SARS-CoV-2, vaccine development, and global health.
