Madhu Suryadevara, MD, is a double board certified Physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease at RWJBH Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Assistant Program Director for the Rutgers Infectious Disease Fellowship Program at Newark Beth Israel.
Dr. Madhu graduated from Stony Brook University and AUA College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at LSU University Hospital and Clinics where he was Internal Medicine Chief Resident. After his residency, he was a practicing hospitalist for 4 years before deciding to pursue further training and completed an Infectious Disease Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where he served as an Infectious Disease Chief Fellow.
Dr. Madhu has committed his life to serving his patients as well as educating and training the next generation of physicians. His hobbies include medical education, chess, basketball, global travel, blockchain, technology, mentorship/consulting and entrepreneurship. Dr. Madhu's philosophy of Care is to treat every patient as if they were family - with consummate respect, dignity, and deep compassion. He is dedicated to helping patients understand their illness and treatment options in the most clear, communicable way.
Primary areas of interest and expertise are Heart & Lung Transplant Infections, HIV/AIDS and Opportunistic Infections, COVID-19, Cardiac Implanted Device Infections, Travel Trip Vaccinations, Tele-Health, Public Health.
Dr. Madhu has a strong focus on teaching data driven, guideline based academic medicine to the residents and fellows. He has an active role in research with a multitude of publications that have been published in peer reviewed journals as well as case reports and abstracts and has been invited to present at national medical conferences.
