Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Infectious Diseases

Patricia Saunders-Hao, PharmD, BCIDP, BCPS (AQ-ID) is a clinical pharmacy specialist practicing in the area of infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset, NY. I received my PharmD from the University of Florida, completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Hartford Hospital and an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 infectious diseases residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining NSUH in March of 2020, I was an infectious diseases clinical pharmacist at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY and was the founding residency program director for the Touro College of Pharmacy/Mount Sinai Hospital PGY-2 infectious diseases residency. Currently, I am involved in rounding with the general and transplant ID consult teams as well as in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives throughout the hospital. I am also the NSUH site coordinator for the Long Island Jewish/North Shore University Hospital PGY-2 Infectious Diseases pharmacy residency program and am an active member of the Northwell Antimicrobial Stewardship Task Force Committee and of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP).
