Sujee Jeyapalina holds the role of Associate Research Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery and serves as a Research Scientist at the Department of Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Hospital. Concurrently, she is appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering. Her academic journey encompasses the attainment of a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Chemical Research from King’s College, University of London. Subsequently, she achieved her Doctoral degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester. After completing her post-doctoral fellowship with the National University of Singapore and the University of Loughborough, UK, Sujee joined the University of Utah’s osseointegration team in 2008. Over the past 15 years, she has dedicated her efforts to conducting translational studies aimed at improving the safe and effective clinical application of percutaneous osseointegrated prosthetics for amputees. More recently, she has been leveraging VA healthcare datasets to gain insights into Long-COVID. Sujee Jeyapalina's impactful contributions to the medical field are evident in her substantial body of work, boasting over 30 publications and more than 15 issued or pending patents. Her commitment to education is reflected in her mentorship of over 20 students from diverse programs, including Bioengineering, mechanical engineering, and Biology.
