Dr. Avnish Sandhu, is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at Wayne State University. She is also a medical director of TB clinic in Detroity City. Dr. Sandhu, finished her Internal Medicine Residency at Sinai Grace Hospital – Detroit Medical Center. She then pursed an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Wayne State University-Detroit Medical Center. She also completed an additional one-year fellowship in Infection Control and Antibiotic stewardshp. She joined wayne state unversity as a faculty and within one year of joining took the responsibility of a very busy and largest TB clinic in State of Michigan.
Dr. Sandhu has had 21 publications with 208 citations and 834 reads. Dr. Sandhu, also did tremendours outreach in the community during COVID-19 pandemic and closely worked with infection control to formulate all policies related to COVID-19. Her special interest is epidemiology and resistance pattern of gram negative pathogens. She gives a lot of education series regarding gram negative resistance. Her interest is also in tuberculosis, she is a medical director of one of busy clinic of tuberculosis in State of Michigan. She also runs monthly seminar for tuberculosis in State of Michigan.
