Pediatric infectologist

Dr Silvina Neyro is a medical doctor with a pediatric, infectology and economics and health management background who is currently a member of the Immunization Program at the Ministry of Health of Argentina. She completed a Pediatric residence and a Pediatric Infectious Disease specialization at the "R. Gutierrez" Children's Hospital and the University of Buenos Aires. She finished a Master Degree in Economics and Health Management, and is a member of the Argentine Society of Pediatrics and of the Argentine Society of Infectious Diseases. She is also a member of the directive commission of the Argentina Society Pediatrics Infectious Diseases, and of the Immunization Committee of this Society.
As a part of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Silvina Neyro is in charge of monitoring the implementation of vaccination strategies, immunization policies and surveillance specially related to new vaccines introductions to the National Immunization Schedule of Argentina; immunocompromised host and children immunization strategies.
She currently works on several lines of research at the Ministry of Health of the Nation, and also doing assistance activities and investigation at a pediatric referral hospital of Argentina (“Ricardo Gutierrez” Children’s Hospital of Buenos Aires).
As a member of the working groups of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Department (Ricardo Gutierrez Children’s Hospital) and the Ministry of Health she has researched, submitted and published information on whooping cough, flu, varicella, child and maternal immunization and some others pediatric infectious diseases.
