Daniel Whitehurst, MD is a 3rd year pediatric resident at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center who is planning on starting a combined pediatric infectious diseases and clinical informatics fellowship next year. Dr. Whitehurst completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio to start his residency training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
His current research interests focus on understanding the epidemiology and risk factors of infectious diseases in immunocompromised pediatric patients. During fellowship he hopes to continue research in this area as well as investigate better ways to utilize the ever-increasing amount of patient data recorded in EHRs.
