Sumaiya Khaja, MD successfully completed her internal medicine residency at Chicago Medical School/Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, the nation’s first federal health care center. She then joined the infectious disease fellowship program at Wayne State University in Michigan, where she is currently completing her final year and looks forward to becoming a well-respected member of the community of infectious disease specialists. Dr. Khaja is a compassionate ABIM certified physician with outstanding communication skills and patient-approved bedside manners. She is passionate about HIV and believes in treating her patients as partners in achieving their health goals. During her time off, she loves to go hiking with her husband and to ponder over Albert Einstein’s saying, “look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
