My name is Lauren Rodriguez, PhD and I am a Research Scientist at Gilead. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Univeristy of California, Santa Cruz and I went to UCSF for graduate school where I received my PhD in Genetics. I studied the genetic pathways involved in virulence of the fungal pathogen Histoplasma capsulatum. At Gilead, I work on SARS-CoV-2 in Clinical Virology, monitoring drug resistance in clinical trials as well as in circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants.
